For those who can't make it out to the American Museum of Natural History in New York, Scholastic now offers a virtual field trip that's completely free.  Since the museum is the setting of Brian Selznick's Wonderstruck, he is the one hosting the virtual tour along museum president Ellen V. Futter.  The tour features three exhibits that are also mentioned in Wonderstruck: the Wolf Diorama, the Ahnighito Meteorite, and the Giant Anopheles Mosquito.  There's also a number of activities to allow for further exploration of the exhibits.  Scholastic's website features other virtual field trips as well.
